My companion of five years
Is on life support.
As I speak:
Memory wiped,
Global amnesia.
It couldn’t be any worse,
His life story, his narrative
No more; all that remains:
A blank screen, emptiness,
The void—is it the beginning,
Or the end? I suppose it depends
On your point of view.
His manifold connections to the universe
Now severed, as he lies
In isolation, linked
To a solitary monitor;
His powers have never
Been so severely compromised.
His only hope
Of resurrection from this fall,
Is my son,
With the power,
To reinstall.

    Super one.

You draw great parallels between the seemingly mundane and greater universal truths. Always been a favorite of mine.
